Come escape the stress of daily life and spend a couple days riding with us through the twisty mountain roads of Vermont and northwestern Massachusetts. Wake to a full country breakfast each morning. Enjoy the scenic New England countryside and explore beautiful small towns and villages. The "Escape to the Mountains" tours allow riders with limited vacation time to join three nights of a "Best of the Mountains" tour to sample backroad riding in the Green Mountains of Vermont. Each morning the group ride will leave together; you can join in or use our custom maps and suggestions to plan your own day of riding. Over the course of the tour we’ll be exploring wonderful backroads, crossing mountain gaps, and enjoying some of the best riding to be found anywhere in the United States.

The "Escape to the Mountains" tours will show you why riders are so passionate about this area. You'll ride the roads that have made the region famous but you'll also be introduced to lesser known, yet equally superb, backroads through the gaps, notches and classic villages of northern New England. Both the riding and the views will stay in your memory for a long time. We’ll show you this area as only local riders who love it could do.   
During the spring, summer and fall, the weather in New England is excellent for riding. On hot days, there will be various places where you can stop to swim in local lakes, streams, rivers or gorges with waterfalls. You might choose to visit the Indian Motorcycle museum or an exotic car museum, tour the Ben and Jerry’s ice cream factory, visit the former home of Norman Rockwell or enjoy an historic New England village.

Each three-night "Escape to the Mountains" tour includes shared accommodation, full country breakfasts and open-menu gourmet dinners. Single accommodation is available at extra cost.  The tours begin in West Dover, Vermont and end in Montpelier, Vermont which is about 120 miles north of West Dover. For riders who wish to return to West Dover at the end of the tour, a map and route sheet for that return ride can be provided upon request and hotel reservations in West Dover can also be arranged. 

Three Night Tour At A Glance

Day 1: Ride meeting at 5:30 pm at our tour base near Wilmington, Vermont 

Day 2: Loop ride* through the Berkshires

Day 3: Gaps Ride through the Green Mountains in central Vermont

Day 4: Tour ends in Montpelier, Vermont after breakfast

* Note: Loop rides begin and end at the same hotel, allowing you decide how far and how long you want to ride that day.

Other Options: The "Best of Vermont" tours explore the Green Mountains of Vermont and the Adirondack Mountains of New York during late May/early June.  The "New England Foliage" tours explore the same region during late September and early October.
